King On the Throne
By Lambert Rusoke
Jubireewo, Jubireewo, Jubireewo.Twentyfive years on the throne for Buganda King, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II .What a journey it has been. Smooth, bumby, narrows today, expands the next, full of adventure and techy savy dynamics, and yet still sticking to the old cultural values and norms that Buganda Kingdom has identified with times on end.
But one man that has stood out to narrate the Kingdom's story is, Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga. And his book, "King On The Throne", digests well the nitty grity of the Kingdom affairs.
Mayiga, presents himself as a faithful son, that has taken on the trouble to read his father's lips. Such that when his turn to eat comes, he does exactly what the elder potrayed.
Here is a book written by a man known for his super oratory skills. And yet his writism in this book, blends so well with a lay man just as when he is on the podium. Simple English, easy to follow narrations and at large, a good account of chronological events, poured out by a lawyer who worked on his research well, but better still grew up and lived up the cultural set up that is Buganda.
In here, lies a story of a young man, growing up in Buganda Kingdom circles, admiring the style, acknowledging the brand and finally practicing it, and to the brim.
Where there has been a disagreement of views from the Central Government and others, Mayiga doesn't mince his words and has stood for what his King believes is rightful for the generations to come.
If i were to "Read Out Loud ",then the whole book would be a reccomendation for any litsening ear ."
It's a Buganda Kingdom narration by a man whose knowledge of events surrounding Buganda Kingdom are second to a few. But above all, a man who is ready to fight for his King's super values and beliefs for his people. Especially, the youth with a hope of leading tommorrow.
